Regional Development Company SavoGrow is a company owned by six municipalities in the heart of Savo Region: Keitele, Pielavesi, Rautalampi, Suonenjoki, Tervo and Vesanto. Our core activities are to execute the economic development strategy of our owner municipalities and to support the vitality of the region. We guard regional interests in economic/industrial policy-making and take actively part in regional development projects.
We live from wood and are famous for strawberries
Our region is active in food industry and berry growing, and particularly known for its strawberries, which have been grated the EU name protection (Protected Geographical Indication, PDI). Other important industries are sawmill, wood products and metal industries. A growing industry is tourism – Southern Konnevesi National Park in Rautalampi being the best known travel destination.

- Free of charge business services for the entire life cycle of a company: starting a company, financing and investment plans, changes of ownership, growth and internationalization. - SavoGrow’s owner municipalities – Keitele, Pielavesi, Rautalampi, Suonenjoki, Tervo and Vesanto – are pioneers in building cooperation between municipalities. SavoGrow serves as a platform for this cooperation. Cooperation is carried out in joint development of municipal services, regional marketing, interest monitoring and forecasting work. By joining forces, the weight of small municipalities increases and resources can be used more rationally. More info (in Finnish)
- Development and expert services in the berry industry for farmers and others interested in the berry growing. The services of the Berry Knowledge Center are nationwide – we serve farmers all over Finland. More info (in Finnish)
- We produce food industry development services as a paid, nationwide service activity, which means you can be our customer regardless of where you live in Finland. We use the modern product development facilities of Suonenjoen Yrityspuisto Futuria and also rent the facilities to companies for short-term use. The newly renovated premises enable further processing and trial production of food products. With us, you can find expert services right from the product idea to the store shelf!
